Clinical team boosted by two new senior members of staff
The clinical team at Birmingham Women's Fertility Centre has been invigorated by two new senior staff arriving. The team is led by Consultant Specialist, Mrs Madhurima Rajkhowa, who has expertise across Infertility with a special interest in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome – a condition very prevalent across the Midlands. Mr Arri Coomarasamy, who is a joint appointment with the University of Birmingham, is again an Infertility and reproductive surgery specialist, with a strong research interest in miscarriage and has already been awarded over £2 million in research funding for this area in the last year.
Mrs Rajkhowa commented “The launch of Birmingham Women’s Fertility Centre and associated new services is an exciting time for the whole team working here to deliver our excellent success rates and quality care. We provide services across the broad spectrum of fertility. The benefit of our services is that we are the only unit of this kind in Birmingham that is based in an NHS hospital and this means that we can provide a full range of services from diagnosis of infertility right through to the delivery of your baby on one site.
I am particularly pleased that we will now be able to offer a range of new services including PGD locally for couples across the Midlands who previously had to travel to London for this service.”
